Prostate Cancer Symptoms And Diet - Prostate cancer - The prostate gland is a small glad found at the base of the bladder. It secretes prostatic fluid. (The fluid in which sperm is carried.) prostate cancer develops when cells in the prostate start to grow in uncontrolled way. They can affect surround tissues and may spread to other body parts of the body. Prostate cancer tends to be a slow-growing cancer and may be asymptomatic.

Causes of prostate cancer may include: A family history of prostate cancer, A high fat diet, Exposure to environmental chemicals, pollution, A history of venereal disease, or High testosterone levels.

Symptoms include a need to urinate frequently, poor urine flow or an inability to urinate, pain or burning during urination, lower back pain, blood in the urine or semen. There may be, however be no symptoms. Many of the symptoms mentioned here may be to (BPH) or benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is important to visit your doctor for a proper diagnosis.

A healthy diet may help to eliminate prostate cancer. Here is an example of foods that your should eat to avoid prostate cancer.

Brazil Nuts – These are a good source of selenium, which is an important anti cancer nutrient that is particularly important for prostate health. Organic Brazil nuts have a high level of selenium than conventionally grown nuts.

Eat avocados and olive oil which are high in mono-unsaturated fats, are a source of vitamin E and have favourable effects on slowing the development of prostate cancer. In some cases vitamin E deficiency is linked to the development of cancer.

Eat Tomatoes – They are a good source of lycopene. Lycopene is a chemical found in plant that has the ability to reduce the chances of developing prostate cancer and can slow its progression. Pureed tomatoes are the best as you can derive maximum lycopene from them. Other fruits which contain lycopene are grapefruits and water melons.

Eat cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower. These vegetables contain potent anti cancer-chemicals. Pomegranate juice also contains antioxidants that can slow the progression of prostate cancer.

Avoid meat especially red meat- eat meat in moderation. Avoid caffeine, fatty meats, salt, daily products, refined carbohydrates and sugar. Avoid saturated fats, margarines, fried foods, pastries etc. These foods can potentially challenge the immune system and deplete the body of nutrients and therefore increasing the risk of progression of cancer.
