Side-Green.Com - 3 Function of Nutrients for Human - Each nutrient has a specific function. Each of these nutrients can not stand alone in body building and running the metabolic processes. However, these nutrients have a variety of different functions.

1. Nutrition as a source of energy

As an energy source of nutrients beneficial to move the body and metabolic processes in the body.

Nutrition as a source of energy for example: carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Foodstuffs which serves as a source of energy such as: rice, corn, and taro, a source of carbohydrates; margarine and butter is a source of fat; fish, meat, and eggs are an excellent source of protein.

All three of these nutrients provide energy for the body. Nutrients is an energy producer that can be used for movement and physical activity and metabolic activity in the body. But the biggest contributor to the energy of the three elements of these nutrients are fat.

2. Nutrients for growth and maintain body tissues

These nutrients have a function as forming cells in human tissue. If the deficiency of this nutrient to consume the human growth and development will be hampered. Besides these nutrients also serves to replace damaged cells and maintain organ function.

Nutrients are included in this group are proteins, fats, minerals, and vitamins. However nutrients that have a dominant source in the growth process is protein.

3. Nutrients as regulatory processes in the body

Metabolic processes in the body requires setting, for a balance. It required a number of nutrients to regulate metabolic processes in the body. The body needs to be a balance, therefore, the metabolic processes in the body, must be properly managed.

Nutrients that serves to regulate metabolic processes in the body are minerals, vitamins, water, and protein. However nutrients whose main function as regulators are minerals and vitamins.
